Our blogroll is back, and you can now follow us on Bluesky as well

We’d like to let you know about a couple of enhancements to our digital presence.

First, due to the mysterious vagaries of WordPress, our blogroll disappeared at some point. We’ve restored it. If you’re reading this website on a computer or tablet, you’ll find “Links” in the right-hand rail. If you’re reading it on your phone, you should find them at the bottom.

“Links” are divided into “Resources” and “Northeastern.” That should be pretty self-explanatory. “Resources” are organizations and publications that are devoted to local news, but not to local news organizations themselves. After all, there are hundreds of independent community journalism outlets.

Second, we believe that the post-Twitter social media fiasco has settled down enough that it’s worth setting up a Bluesky account. Here you’ll find some items that are also on our website but even more that aren’t. We can’t write full articles about everything, and Bluesky is a way of expanding the conversation. You’ll find us on Bluesky at @whatworks-nu.bsky.social.

We are working on developing a full Bluesky newsfeed that we can post on the What Works homepage, similar to what we were able to offer at one time with Twitter. Our hope is to have that online sometime during the summer.
